The Impact of Carbon Tariffs on Kazakhstan's Refining and Chemical Industry and its Response Strategies
This paper introduces the carbon emission policies of regions related to Kazakhstan's polyolefin product trade and analyzes the impact of carbon tariffs on the refining industry.Taking the export of Kazakhstan's polyethylene product to the European Union as an example, the carbon tariffs are estimated, and the carbon emissions, carbon prices, and free quotas that mainly affect the carbon tariffs are discussed.Targeted response strategies for Kazakhstan's refining industry are proposed, including formulating a reasonable carbon taxs policy, determining an appropriate carbon taxs price, and strengthening carbon emission management.Through technological improvement and increasing green capabilities in particular,Kazakhstan can effectively reduce carbon emissions and the economic burden of carbon tariffs to promote the sustainable development of Kazakhstan's refining industry.
