Measurement of Young's modulus of wire with parallel cascaded optical levers
Optic lever is a high precision measurement for the displacement, widely used in electro-magnetic,atomic force microscopy and measuring young's modulus of materials.Multilevel optical le-ver has generated considerable research interest due to the advantage of highly enhanced magnification, but there are still some problems, such as it is difficult to determine the order of reflection, and there must be a certain initial deviate angle between the incident light and the inclined plane of the optical lever. The above problems can be solved by forming parallel multilevel optical levers through multiple reflections in the vertical plane of the inclined plane of optical levers. It can highly enhanced magnifi-cation in limited space without the deviate angle, and easy to determine the order of reflection. The op-tical path and amplification principle of parallel multilevel optical levers measurement are theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified. The magnification can reach to 103.7 times by use 3th parallel multilevel optical levers, which is an order of magnitude higher than that of optical lever.
