Orthogonal design for teaching experiment of methyl acetate synthesis
This paper introduces the application of orthogonal design for the teaching experiment of methyl acetate synthesis method, analyzes the effects of the molar ratio of alcohol/acid,catalyst dos-age,fractionating column length of these three factors on the yield of methyl acetate. The optimum ex-perimental conditions for synthesis are selected as follows:the molar ratio of alcohol/acid is 1.3∶1,catalyst dosage is 1.5 mL and fractionating column is 30 cm in length. And the results are similar to the comprehensive test with less test times. In chemical experiment teaching, the combination of exper-imental operation training and data processing knowledge not only improves students'learning interest, but also enables them to better understand the idea of experimental design, cultivate their practical and innovative ability to analyze and solve problems, and achieve good teaching effects.
