Objective To investigate the clinical effect of free wrist crease flap with palmaris longus tendon for repair of dorsal skin and extensor tendon defect of finger. Methods Reviewed and analyzed clinical data of 8 patients,We used free wrist crease flap with palmaris longus tendon to repair the dorsal skin and extensor tendon defect of finger from March 2021 to April 2023.The defect size of skin were 1.2 cm×2.2 cm~1.5 cm×3.4 cm,and the defect length of extensor tendon were 2.0~4.0 cm.Tendon defect sites:2 cases in the proximal segment,4 cases in the middle segment, and 2 cases in the distal segment; Two cases had combined terminal bundle termination defects, and three cases had combined central bundle termination defects. After the operation, the patients were evaluated according to the appearance of the flap, the flexion and extension function of the finger and the satisfaction of the patients. Results All 8 flaps survived, the colour was similar with the surrounding skin, the appearance was not blotted, there was no need for secondary thinning;According to the upper limb function evaluation criteria recommened by Chinese Society of Hand Surgery,7 was excellent,1 was good. Conclusion The free wrist crease flap with palmaris longus tendon can repair two kinds of defects by one surgery only using one supply area. And it also has many advantages, such as good appearance, hidden donor site, less trauma, and good functional recovery of the affected finger, which is worthy of clinical application.
