Remediation of Petroleum Contaminated Soil by Modified Straw Carrier Immobilized Microorganism
Carrier XMG was modified by acid oxidation to enhance its adsorption of microorganisms. The influences of modifier concentration, modification time and temperature on XMG surface functional groups and adsorption properties of bacteria were investigated.Modified XMG was taken as carrier to immobilize microbial and then was used to in situ remediation of petroleum contaminated soil. The results showed that modified under the conditions of 10 mol/L acetic acid,70℃ and 30 min, carboxyl content of acidic functional groups in modified XMG increased from 0.08 mmol/L of unmodified one to 0.19 mmol/L,lactone base content increased from 0.34 mmol/L to 1.28 mmol/L and hydroxyl content increased from 0.12 mmol/L to 1.07 mmol/L,and its adsorption amount of microorganisms (OD600) increased from 0.209 to 0.297,meaning that modified XMG was more conductive to adsorb microorganisms.Compared with unmodified XMG immobilized microbial, petroleum degradation rate of petroleum contaminated soil with modified XMG immobilized microbial in 35 d of in situ remediation had a slight increase, from 40.3% to 42.9 %.
