A detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis of individual aromatic components in gasoline, especially C9+aromatics,was carried out by comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with hydrogen flame ionization detector(GC×GC-FID).The comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography system uses a solid-state modulator. The primary column is a non-polar column with dimethyl polysiloxane solid phase, and the secondary column is a polar column with polyethylene glycol stationary phase.Under the optimized chromatographic conditions,153 components of C6-C12 aromatics can be separated by one injection. The aromatic hydrocarbons in the gasoline composition are distributed in bands in the comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatogram, and the"tile effect"is obvious. The separation of different types of gasoline such as straight run gasoline, reformed gasoline, catalytic cracking gasoline, coking gasoline and pyrolysis gasoline by comprehensive two-dimensional chromatography was investigated. The olefinic aromatics in pyrolysis gasoline can be well separated from alkylbenzene.A method for quantitatively determining the monomer aromatics, especially C9+aromatics in motor gasoline by internal standard method has been established, from which the quantitative results have good repeatability and accuracy. The method can provide fundamental data and methods supporting the research of clean gasoline production process and the quality control of gasoline products.
