Willingness to receive a free influenza vaccine and its influencing factors among the elderly in Kaifu District of Changsha City,2022
Objective To understand the willingness to get a free influenza vaccine and its affecting factors among senior citizens in Kaifu District of Changsha City,and to provide a reference basis for promoting the policy regarding free influenza vaccination for the elderly.Methods We randomly selected 423 senior citizens aged ≥ 65 years who had or had not permanent registered residence(lived in local residence ≥ 6 months)in Kaifu District,and then collected the related information through a questionnaire survey.Results The free influenza vaccination rate of the elderly in Kaifu Changsha District was 44.91％,and the willingness to receive vaccination was 53.66％.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the promotive factors for the elderly's willingness to receive free influenza vaccination were as follows:previously receiving free influenza vaccination(OR=6.102,95％CI;3.527-10.556),being aware of the policy regarding free influenza vaccination in Kaifu District(OR=12.235,95％CI:5.394-27.750)and knowing that the elderly were the key population for influenza vaccination(OR=2.486,95％CI:1.068-75.790).Having knowledge about post-vaccination adverse reactions after influenza vaccine might occur(OR=0.159,95％CI:0.080-0.317)was the obstructive factor for the elderly's willingness to receive free influenza vaccination.Conclusion We can promote free influenza vaccination for the elderly in Kaifu District through enhancing the publicity of the policy regarding free influenza vaccination and improving the elderly's awareness rate of knowledge about influenza vaccine and vaccine safety.
