Objective To analyze the gender, age and seasonal differences of influenza A and B viruses in patients with respiratory tract infection in Taiyuan area in 2023,and to provide evidence for the prevention and treatment of influenza viruses. Methods Samples from 951 patients who were tested for influenza A and B virus in Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital from January to November 2023 were selected for nucleic acid detection by PCR,and the infection status of influenza A and B in different seasons, ages and genders were analyzed. Results Among the 951 patients,287 cases were influenza A positive(30.2%)and one case was influenza B positive(0.5%),except one case with unsuitable sampling.Influenza A virus was detected in February,March and November, with positive rates of 28.0%,42.6%and 33.6%,respectively.The positive rates of influenza A virus nucleic acid were 35.71%,48.9%,34.4%,30.9%and 25.1%in 0~4 years old,5~14 years old,15~24 years old,25~59 years old and ≥60 years old, respectively. The positive rates were 33.1%and 27.4%in males and females, respectively. There was no significant difference in positive rate. Conclusion Influenza A is significantly more than influenza B in Taiyuan. It has certain characteristics of season and age distribution.Effective prevention and treatment measures can be taken according to its characteristics.
