Objective To investigate the effect of levetiracetam(LEV)on electroencephalogram(EEG)in children with benign epilepsy accompanied by centrotemporal spines(BECTS).Methods From October 2021 to October 2022,children with BECTS diagnosed in outpatient department were divided into control group(36 cases)and study group(32 cases)according to antiepileptic drugs. The control group received oxcarbamazepine(OXc),and the study group received LEV.x2 test was used between groups, the rank sum test for ordinal data, and expressed as(x)±s for quantitative data, and t test was used to compare the control effect of seizure,EEG epileptic discharge improvement, and adverse reactions of the two groups. Results The BECTS control effect of the study group was better than that of the control group(Z=2.596,P<0.05).The improvement effect of EEG epileptic discharge in the study group was better than that in the control group(Z=2.045,P<0.05).The epileptic seizure control effect and EEG epileptic discharge improvement effect of the study group were better than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion LEV is safe and effective in controlling EEG epileptic discharge frequency and seizure frequency in children.
