Objective To analyze the significance of sperm DNA fragmentation index(DFI)detection in male infertility patients. Methods A total of 150 male infertility patients treated in our hospital from May 2021 to May 2023 were selected as the observation group, and 150 female pregnant patients who underwent pre-pregnancy physical examination in our hospital during the same period and were followed up for one year were selected as the control group.Semen samples were collected,DFI and semen parameters of the two groups were detected and compared, and male infertility patients were divided into 3 groups according to DFI.Thirty-six patients with DFI≤15%were assigned as group A,64 patients with DFI>15%~30%were assigned as group B,and 50 patients with DFI>30%were assigned as group C.Semen parameters of the three groups were compared, and the correlation between DFI and semen parameters was analyzed by Pearson. Results DFI in observation group was higher than that in control group(P<0.05).The percentage of forward motile sperm(PR),sperm concentration, sperm normal form rate and sperm survival rate in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The PR,sperm concentration, sperm normal form rate and sperm survival rate of group C were lower than those of groups B and A(P<0.05),respectively and the PR,sperm concentration, sperm normal form rate and sperm survival rate of group B were lower than those of group A(P<0.05).DFI was negatively correlated with PR,sperm concentration, sperm normal morphology rate and sperm survival rate respectively(r=-0.403,-0.381,-0.376,-0.396,P<0.001).Conclusion DFI is higher in male infertility patients, and there is a certain correlation between DFI and semen parameters, which can be used as an important indicator to evaluate the patient's condition.
