Objective To investigate the application effect of the total quality management of foreign medical devices in the disinfection supply center.Methods A total of 480 foreign orthopedic instruments in our hospital were selected as samples for this study,which were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group.Two hundred forty foreign medical devices in control group were cleaned,disinfected and sterilized by the traditional CSSD mode,and 240 foreign medical devices in experimental group were cleaned,disinfected and sterilized after the total quality management.Data evaluation included:the effect of different management models applied to the cleaning and sterilization of foreign medical devices,and the satisfaction of medical staff with the use of medical instruments was analyzed by questionnaire.Results The results showed that in the experimental group the qualified rate of cleaning was 98.3％,the perfectness rate of performance was 99.2％,and the qualified rate of sterilization was 100％.In the control group,the qualified rate of cleaning was 91.7％,the perfectness rate of performance was 94.2％,and the qualified rate of sterilization was 97.5％.The difference in the proportion of data was significant(P＜0.05).The department satisfaction of the experimental group was 98.3％,which was higher than 85.0％of the control group.The above data analysis and comparison showed that the advantages of the experimental group were more obvious,with statistical significance(P＜0.05).Conclusions In CSSD the total process quality management can significantly improve the cleaning and sterilization quality of foreign medical instruments,and effectively ensure the clinical safety of foreign medical instruments.
