Application Development Status and Prospect of Charpy Impact Test Method
As a commonly used mechanical properties testing method,Charpy impact test method is extensively employed for the rapid as-sessment of a material fracture resistance under impact loads by recording the absorbed energy during the fracture process of metallic materi-als.In this paper,the research history of Charpy impact test is reviewed.The current status of development and existing issues on the inves-tigation of uncertainties in test results,verification of testing machines,fitting models for data analysis,and the establishment of conversion relationships for fracture toughness are introduced in detail.Finally,prospects for future research directions of Charpy impact test are summarized.
