Experimental Research on Thermal Insulation Performance of Outer Clad Thermal Insulation Tubing under Different Loads
Thermal insulation tubing has a wide range of application in exploitation of heavy oil, prevention wellbores form wax deposition,as well as gas hydrate plugging removal in gas well.In this paper, using the tubing/casing string loading experimental device and the thermal cycle temperature monitoring system, the tensile, bending and external pressure tests of the full-size outer clad insulation tubing(referred to as the insulation tubing)and its thermal insulation performance in different media are carried out.The main controlling factors of the influ-ence of different service loads on the thermal insulation performance of insulation tubing were studied. The results show that within 2 000 m depth of that of the thermal insulation tubing down from the well, tensile and bending loads in service cannot cause relative slip between the outer and inner tubes of the thermal insulation tubing. With the increase of the external pressure, the deformation of the thermal insulation tubing increases. From an initial temperature of 100℃,when there is no external load in the water, the temperature difference between the thermal insulation tubing and the P110 tubing reaches the maximum value of 55.4℃ within 20 minutes. At this time, the temperature drop of the P110 tubing is 4.7 times of that of the thermal insulation tubing.Under various loads in the air with the initial temperature of100℃,the insulation effect of the insulation tubing is only slightly reduced within20 min,and the maximum temperature drop is3.5℃.The order of the influence of different loads on the thermal insulation performance is external pressure>bending>tensile.
