Influence of Perforation on Casing Collapsing Strength Under Non-uniform Load
The collapsing resistance of casing in oil and gas wells is closely associated with the yield strength of materials. The cracks around the perforated holes have a significant effect on the collapse resistance of casing.Firstly, perforation experiments were carried out on casing of different types and steel grades. Then static compression tests were carried out on three types of specimens without perforated holes, with machined holes and with perforated holes to compare the collapsing resistance changes of each specimen under the influence of perforation crack. Finally, the influence of perforation crack on the collapsing resistance performance of casing was analyzed by finite element simula-tion.The results show that the initial perforation crack can aggravate the stress concentration of the casing at the hole, and make the collap-sing strength of the perforated casing decrease significantly. In addition, compared with the hole density and phase, the hole diameter has the most significant effect on reducing the collapsing strength of perforated casing.
