Different bone grafting materials in lateral window sinus floor elevation
Objective To observe the clinical efficacies of Bio-Oss,Bio-Oss+concentrated growth factor(CGF)and Sticky bone in lateral window sinus floor elevation surgery. Methods Seventy-four patients with posterior maxillary dentition defect and maxillary sinus floor residual bone height(RBH)deficiency were performed lateral window sinus floor elevation surgery and delayed implantation in Yellow River Sanmenxia Hospital from February 2021 to February 2022,and were divided into Bio-Oss group(n=24),Bio-Oss+CGF group(n=25)and Sticky bone group(Bio-Oss mixed with CGF and autologous fibrin glue)(n=25)according to bone graft material. The body mass index, postoperative pain, facial swelling height, implant stability quotients(ISQs)immediately after implantation,6 months after implantation and 12 months after implant functional load, and RBHs before implantation, immediately after implantation,6 months after implantation and 12 months of implant functional load were compared among three groups. Results There were no significant differences in the percentages of diabetes, coronary heart disease and smoking habits, body mass index, postoperative pain score and facial swelling height among three groups(P>0.05).The ISQs were higher in Sticky bone group(77.88±0.46,80.34±0.35,82.45±0.31)than those in Bio-Oss+CGF group(76.45± 0.25,78.45±0.94,80.11±0.24)and Bio-Oss group(75.11±0.36,77.22±0.32,79.45±0.37)immediately after implantation,6 months after implantation and 12 months after implant functional load(P<0.05),and higher in Bio-Oss+CGF group than those in Bio-Oss group(P<0.05).The ISQs increased sequentially immediately after implantation,6 months after implantation and 12 months after implant functional load in three groups(P<0.05).The RBH showed no significant difference before implantation among three groups(P>0.05).The RBHs were greater in Sticky bone group[(13.88±0.45),(12.75±0.36),(12.64±0.31)mm]than those in Bio-Oss+CGF group[(13.45± 0.25),(12.41±0.47),(11.78±0.85)mm]and Bio-Oss group[(13.17±0.86),(12.13±0.66),(11.41± 0.14)mm]immediately after implantation,6 months after implantation and 12 months after implant functional load in three groups(P<0.05),and showed no significant differences between Bio-Oss+CGF group and Bio-Oss group(P>0.05).The RBH decreased sequentially before implantation, immediately after implantation,6 months after implantation and 12 months after implant functional load in Bio-Oss+CGF group and Bio-Oss group(P<0.05),decreased sequentially before implantation, immediately after implantation and 6 months after implantation in Sticky bone group(P<0.05),and showed no significant difference 12 months after implant functional load compared with that 6 months after implantation in Sticky bone group(P>0.05).Conclusion For patients with posterior maxillary dentition defect and maxillary sinus floor RBH deficiency,Sticky bone used as bone grafting material during lateral window sinus floor elevation has less bone absorption than Bio-Oss or Bio-Oss+CGF,which contributes to the implant stability.
