Application of radionuclide imaging in fibrosing mediastinitis
Fibrosing mediastinitis is a chronic inflammatory disease caused by hyperplasia of fiber tissues in the mediastinum and compression of surrounding tissues and organs.Early diagnosis and timely intervention are of great significance in preventing disease progression and improving the prognosis. At present, fibrosing mediastinitis is mainly diagnosed based on the typical imaging signs and tissue biopsy, while the accurate diagnosis is hard to make since the early imaging changes in tissue structure are not obvious, and the tissue biopsy is at a certain risk because of its invasiveness.Radionuclide imaging can determine the location and degree of inflammation,so it can be used in the early diagnosis of fibrosing mediastinitis and efficacy evaluation. This paper reviews the research progress of the application of radionuclide imaging in fibrosing mediastinitis.
