Progression of speech disorder in multiple system atrophy
Multiple system atrophy(MSA)is a progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by a variety of combinations of autonomic failure,Parkinson's disease, and cerebellar ataxia. In 2022,the Movement Disorders Society updated the diagnostic criteria for MSA,which states that"severe speech impairment within 3 years of motor onset"is one of the supportive motor features, suggesting that speech impairment might be an underlying clinical marker. This paper reviews the research progress of the speech disorders in MSA.
