Pathogenesis and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated with osteoporosis
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a common and progressive aggravation of the respiratory system, with a high mortality rate.As one of the common comorbidities, osteoporosis affects the quality of life of patients with COPD,and prolongs the course of COPD.Due to its insidious onset, the diagnostic and therapeutic rates are low.The pathogenesis of osteoporosis is complex and it may be closely correlated with the factors as chronic inflammation,long-term use of glucocorticoid, smoking history and malnutrition in COPD patients. This paper reviews the research progress of the pathogenesis of osteoporosis, its relationship with lung function, screening and treatment in COPD patients.
