Current status of primary treatment and recurrent treatment for ovarian cancer
The majority of ovarian cancer is diagnosed at an advanced stage,due to the lack of methods for early screening and diagno-sis.Ovarian cancer is characterized by difficult treatment,easy recurrence and poor prognosis,and the mortality rate ranks the first among gynecological malignant tumors.The primary treatment of early-stage ovarian cancer is mainly comprehensive staging surgery,and some patients require adjuvant chemotherapy.Primary treatment for advanced ovarian cancer includes cytoreductive surgery,adjuvant chemo-therapy,and maintenance therapy.Treatment options for recurrent ovarian cancer are limited,and patients are encouraged to actively par-ticipate in clinical trials.Patients can choose different treatment regimens according to the type of platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer and platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.This article reviews the current status of primary therapy and recurrent treatment for ovarian cancer,in order to provide reference for clinical practice.
