Exploring the Therapeutic Efficacy of Shuganlipi Decoction Combined with Acupoint Catgut Embedding Liver Depression and Spleen Deficiency Type Ulcerative Colitis Based on the Brain-Gut Axis
Objective Analyzing the therapeutic effic acy of Shuganlipi Decoction combined with acupoint catgut embedding on Liver Depression and Spleen Deficiency type ulcerative colitis from the perspective of brain gut axis..Methods 80 UC patients admitted to the Department of Gastroenterology at the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected for the study.Patients were randomly divided into an observation group of 40 cases(treated with Shuganlipi Decoction orally and acupoint catgut embedding)and a control group of 40 cases(treated with Mesalazine Slow Release Tablets orally).Clinical efficacy, mucosal healing rate, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score, modified Mayo score, and brain-gut peptide indicators were observed and compared before and after treatment in both groups. Results After treatment, the clinical efficacy and mucosal healing rate in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Both groups showed a significant reduction in traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores and modified Mayo scores after treatment and the observation group performed better than the control group(P<0.01).The serum levels of 5-HT and SP in the observation group exhibited a pronounced decrease compared to before treatment, while VIP levels increased significantly. The observation group performed better than the control group(P<0.01).No adverse reactions were observed in either group. Conclusion The combination of Shuganlipi Decoction and acupoint catgut embedding has a significant therapeutic effect, effectively regulating the brain-gut peptide levels in patients, reducing mucosal lesions, and enhancing the quality of life.
