Efficacy of empirical antifungal therapy in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with frequent acute exacerbation of sputum fungus smear-positive
Objective To investigate the efficacy of itraconazole in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)with frequent acute exacerbation of sputum fungus smear-positive.Methods 90 patients with frequent acute exacerbation of COPD admitted to our hospital from June 2020 to June 2023 were selected and divided into two groups according to random number table meth-od,with 45 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional antibiotics for anti-infection,antispasmodic and asthmatic treatment, and the observation group was given itraconazole on the basis of the control group. The therapeutic effect, lung function,symp-tom improvement time,re-hospitalization times and drug safety of the two groups were compared. Results The drug safety of the two groups was similar(P>0.05).The treatment effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group, the improvement of lung function index after treatment was better than that of the control group, the improvement time of symptoms was shorter than that of the control group, and the number of re-hospitalizations was less than that of the control group, the differences were statistically signif-icant(P<0.05).Conclusion Oral itraconazole can effectively improve lung function, shorten clinical symptoms, reduce the num-ber of re-hospitalizations,and do not increase obvious adverse reactions in patients with frequent acute COPD with positive sputum fun-gus smears. It is safe and worthy of clinical application.
