Foam dressing on diabetic foot effect and clinical significance of relevant inflam-matory indices
Objective To investigate the effect of foam dressing on relevant inflammatory indexes and wound healing efficacy of di-abetic foot(DF)patients and its clinical significance. Methods 90 DF patients admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guan-gxi Medical University from 2020 to 2023 were collected, and the changes in inflammatory indexes such as white blood cell counts,neu-trophil percentages, lymphocyte percentages and so on before and after the use of foam dressing were compared for 1-2 weeks, and the number of dressing changes and pain scores were recorded, and the healing rate of wounds was calculated,so as to determine the thera-peutic efficacy of the foam dressing. Results The average number of dressing changes after the use of foam dressing was less than that before the use of foam dressing, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The pain scores of patients before the use of foam dressing were statistically different from those after the use of foam dressing(P<0.05).The wound healing rate of patients 1-2 weeks before the use of foam dressing was lower than that after the use of foam dressing, and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).The relevant inflammatory indexes such as white blood cell count and neutrophil percentage gradually decreased and lymphocyte percentage gradually increased in patients 1-2 weeks after using foam dressing, and the differences were all statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05).Conclusion Foam dressing can reduce the number of wound dressing changes, alleviate the pain of patients during dressing changes, exert antimicrobial effects, inhibit the recurrence of inflammatory reactions, and can slow down the further dete-rioration of DF wounds.
