Research on the efficiency of polysilicate aluminum flocculant in removing fluoride and turbidity
With the advancement of semiconductor and photovoltaic industries, the generation of fluorinated waste-water is on the rise, making the treatment of such wastewater a critical issue. This study investigates the effective-ness of polysilicate aluminum flocculant(PSA)as fluoride and turbidity removal agent in removing fluoride and tur-bidity,and compares it with the aluminum sulfate and polyaluminum chloride in the effectiveness of fluoride and turbidity as removal agent. The results indicate that the optimal coagulation conditions for PSA to remove fluoride and turbidity are as follows:water sample pH=7,dosage of 4×10-4 mol/L,fast stirring speed of 260 r/min,fast stir-ring time of 2 min, slow stirring speed of 20 r/min,slow stirring time of 20 min,and sedimentation time of 30 min.Under these conditions, the fluoride removal rate reaches 67.99%,with a residual fluoride content of 1.60 mg/L,and the turbidity removal rate is 98.67%.PSA outperforms aluminum sulfate and polyaluminum chloride in terms of fluoride and turbidity removal.
