Mechanical Response Study on Bridge Deck Waterproofing Adhesive Layer in Simply Supported Beam Bridges by Finite Element Analysis
The failure of the waterproofing adhesive layer is a primary cause of disease in the pavement of simply supported beam bridges. In this study, the mechanical response of waterproofing adhesive layers in different types of simply supported beam bridge were analyzed by numerical simulations to clarify the stress states and summarize the influence of the modulus and thickness of asphalt paving layer on the mechanical response indicators of the water-proofing adhesive layer. The results indicate that the bridge type of simply supported beam bridges has minor impact on the mechanical response of the waterproofing adhesive layer;Increasing the modulus of the asphalt paving layer has a favorable effect on controlling the maximum tensile stress and the deformation of the asphalt paving layer;Additionally, increasing the thickness of the asphalt paving layer can effectively control the normal tensile stress of waterproofing adhesive layer and disperse wheel loads. The research can provide a theoretical basis for the structural design of bridge deck pavement and improve the service life of simply supported beam bridges.
