Swelling Behavior Characteristic of SBS Modified Asphalt Based on Fluorescence Image Quantitative Analysis
SBS is the most commonly used modifier for modified asphalt, and its solubilization state has a significant effect on the performance of asphalt. The macroscopic properties of SBS modified asphalt were investigated by needle penetration, softening point and ductility tests.Based on fluorescence microscopy technology, the phase field distri-bution and swelling state of SBS in SBS modified asphalt were studied under different shear times, and the swelling development behavior was quantitatively characterized.A linear relationship model between macroscopic properties and micro morphological parameters was built to analyze the effect of micro morphological parameters on macroscopic properties. The analysis results showed that the shear time had a significant effect on the physical properties of SBS modified asphalt. With the increase of shear time, all the numbers,major-minor axis ratio, circularity, area ratio and the average area of SBS particles changed. When the shear time increased from 5 min to 55 min,the number of SBS particles increased by 68%,the major to minor axis ratio increased by 47%,the shape of the particles changed from ellipse to strip, the area ratio of SBS particles increased by 40.88%,the average area increased by 24.93 times. When the shear time was 60~90 min,SBS particles continued to swell and develop,SBS particle number repeated the same change process as one under 5~55 min. There is a significant linear relationship between the area ratio and mean area of the SBS phase field and the softening point in the macroscopic properties.
