Health Assessment and Restoration Plan for Sewage Network in a City in the Pearl River Delta
In order to speed up the work of improving the quality and efficiency of urban sewage, sort the topological structure of sewage pipe network, and reserve pipeline transfer capacity for the comprehensive treatment of water environment, source control and sewage interception project, the detection and repair work has been carried out for 177 km of sewage pipe network within a coastal city in the Pearl River Delta.Through qualitative evaluation and quantitative statistical analysis of pipeline inspection results, the health status of pipeline operation has been mas-tered.After CCTV inspection,a total of 10 270 pipeline defects were found, including 9 927 structural defects, mainly manifested as fractures, undulations, and dislocations; And 343 functional defects, mainly manifested as obstacles, scaling, and tree roots.Based on parameter indicators of defect density and pipe repair index, the health status of sewage pipes with different pipes and diameters were analyzed. It was found that HDPE pipes have more defects than concrete pipes, and the damage is severe. The health condition of pipelines with larger diameters is better than that with smaller diameters.Based on the analysis results,a corresponding pipeline repair plan is pro-posed,as well as suggestions for the design, construction, and maintenance of sewage pipelines. When the repair was completed, the COD mass concentration increased and the pipeline water level significantly decreased,achiev-ing the goal of improving sewage quality and efficiency. This provides a reference for the construction, test, repair, and maintenance of urban sewage pipelines in muddy geological areas.
