Effects Analysis of Evaporation Methods on High Temperature Rheological and Fatigue Properties of Emulsified Asphalt Residue
In order to study the effect of evaporation methods on the high temperature rheological and fatigue properties of emulsified asphalt residues, cationic emulsified asphalt was prepared by colloid mill method and styrene butadiene rubber(SBR)was added to improve its high temperature rheological properties.A dynamic shear rheometer(DSR)was used to analyze the rheological properties of emulsified asphalt residues by different evaporation methods.A linear amplitude sweep(LAS)test was used to evaluate the fatigue performance. The research results indicate that when the SBR content reaches 3%or more, there is little difference in the effect of different evaporation methods on the residual properties of emulsified asphalt residue; When low temperature evaporation(ASTM)method is applied and SBR dosage is below 3%,emulsified asphalt residue exhibits better adaptability. In addition, the LAS test results show that the addition of SBR can significantly improve the fatigue life of emulsified asphalt residue. The performance of emulsified asphalt residues prepared by ASTM method is closer to the actual situation. The infrared spectroscopy test results show that the addition of SBR or the use of different evaporation methods mainly involves physical reac-tions.The ASTM method can effectively reduce the stretching vibration of carbonyl(C=O)and sulfoxide(S=O)functional groups, thereby the aging degree of emulsified asphalt residue will be reduced. Therefore,it is recom-mended to prioritize the ASTM method for conducting fatigue life test in the laboratory.
