Design of Steel Truss Girder for the Main Bridge of Double-decks Cable-stayed Bridge
The main bridge of Xiangshan Bridge in Zhongshan,Guangdong Province is a double-decks steel truss cable-stayed bridge, the pylons are concrete structure resembling the Chinese character"Ren",supported by bored piles, the stay cables are composed of high-strength Zn-Al alloy coated parallel steel wires, constraint system is half-floating system with longitudinal damper. After comparison and selection, the main girder consists of two N-shaped steel trusses was determined; Both the upper chords and lower chords are box cross-section with stiffeners. The web members are H shape cross-section or box cross-section with stiffeners. The crossbeams are fish-belly shaped beams;Under the range of 187.2 m side span, concrete deck panels serve as counterweight, and the remain-ing upper and lower decks are installed with orthotropic steel plates; The side spans of the main bridge and part of the mid-span girders on shallow shoal are constructed by incremental launching, and the overall lifting cantilever as-sembly construction of large section is applied for the remaining trusses. The standard lifted section is 25.6 m;Apart from welding the upper flange of the chords and deck panels, the remaining components are connected by high-strength bolts. The relevant conclusions provide a reference for the design of similar double-decks steel truss girder cable-stayed bridges for highways.
