Research on the Appreciation and Analysis Methods of British and American Literary Works from the Perspective of Cultural Mutual Learning
On the basis of defining the concepts of cultural mutual learning and literary appreciation,drawing on the experience and achievements of predecessors,this paper explores the appreciation and analysis methods of British and American literary works from the perspective of cultural mutual learning for native Chinese readers.For native Chinese readers,when appreciating British and American literary works,the first step is to be faithful to the original meaning of the work and eliminate the influence of cultural barriers on the appreciation of the work;Secondly,it is necessary to skillfully use methods of domestication and alienation to integrate into Chinese local culture;Thirdly,it is necessary to connect with local culture based on the specific ideographic language of the original work;Fourthly,it is necessary to analyze the dialect and dramatic monologue of the work to present the cultural characteristics of the original work;The fifth is to respect the creation background of the original work and perceive the cultural and artis-tic beauty of the work.At the same time,it is also expected that the above methods will provide reference for readers who are native to Chinese when reading and appreciating British and American literary works.
