In order to promote cultural self-awareness and realize innovative development of northern Anhui cul-ture,this paper interprets the new knowledge view and methodology of local knowledge proposed by anthropological scholar Giltz,opens up a new direction for the study of northern Anhui culture,analyzes the uniqueness of historical context,natural context and cognitive context of northern Anhui culture,and points out its development direction based on locality:the innovative growth of cultural gene,the connotation construction of urban and rural space and the local characteristics of public life.
