Chemical Characteristics of Mine Water and Evaluation of Irrigation Suitability in Suzhou Agricultural Area
Studying the hydrochemical characteristics and irrigation suitability of mine water has practical signifi-cance for agriculture in Suzhou.By collecting regional geological data, collecting mine water samples and testing their pH value,TDS,and conventional ions, the experimental data is statistically processed and relevant graphs are drawn to analyze the chemical characteristics, main ion sources and causes, and irrigation suitability of the mine wa-ter in the area under investigation. The results show that the mine water in the southern mining area of Suzhou is weakly alkaline, with a higher TDS value than standard drinking water. The hydrochemical types include HCO3-Na,Cl-Na,and SO4-Na·Mg types, with significantly higher Na+and HCO-3 content, slightly higher SO42-con-tent,and comparable Ca2+and Mg2+content.This reflects that the main controlling factor for hydrochemical control in the area is the dissolution of silicate minerals caused by water rock interaction.Based on the SAR and SC values of the samples, most of the mine water in the study area cannot be directly used for agricultural irrigation.
