Influence of asphalt road roughness on scour output characteristics of runoff particles
The surface characteristics of asphalt roads were quantified by roughness, and the influence of road surface roughness on the scour output characteristics of runoff particles was analyzed by model simulation and correlation analysis. The results indicated that the road roughness and rainfall intensity were the key factors affecting the scour output of road surface runoff particles. The lower the road roughness and the higher the rainfall intensity, the stronger the scour effect of road surface runoff particles, the higher the cumulative scour amount of runoff particles in the rainfall event, and the higher the overall scour level of runoff particles. In addition, road roughness, rainfall intensity, and runoff duration all affected the particle size distribution in runoff, and road roughness was the dominant factor. The lower the road roughness, the longer the runoff duration and the higher the rainfall intensity, the higher the proportion of particles with size not smaller than 150 μm and the lower the proportion of particles with size smaller than 75 μm in road runoff.
