Research progress on macrophage abnormalities and the pathogenesis of recurrent spontaneous abortion
Recurrent spontaneous abortion is a clinical complication of refractory pregnancy and has complex causes.Among them, the effect of immunological factors has been received much attention.Macrophages,as the second largest group of immune cells at the maternal-fetal interface, are involved in various reproductive events in women, and a growing number of studies have suggested that their abnormalities are closely related to the pathogenesis of recurrent spontaneous abortion. In this paper,we summarized the sources and classifications of uterine macrophages, systematically reviewed the relationship between the abnormal polarization of macrophages at the microscopic level, the abnormal function of macrophages at the macroscopic level and recurrent spontaneous abortion, thus attempted to find new directions of exploration in this field.
