Expert consensus on thyroid disease screening before and during assisted reproduction
Thyroid disease is one of the significant factors contributing to reduced fertility.The prevalence of thyroid disease in females with reduced fertility is on the rise.The impact of thyroid function on the male reproductive system is gaining attention.Therefore,it is crucial to test the thyroid function of couples before undergoing assisted reproductive technology(ART),especially during ovarian stimulation,and levothyroxine(LT4)therapy should be considered for patients with hypothyroidism.To standardize screening and treatment,this expert consensus is formed with reference to domestic and foreign guidelines and literature,aiming to provide guidance for assisted reproductive surgeons,endocrinologists and gynecologists who provide treatment for infertile couples with thyroid disease or dysfunction.
