In the 43rd year of the reign period of Emperor Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty,Qi Jiguang appointed Li Chao to engage in the suppression of Su Apu.The army entered Su Apu's headquarters at Xiaoliao earth building and annihilated his principal force.Qi Jiguang ordered Li Chao and Geng Zongyuan to help each other to chase Su Apu's remaining force,thus forcing Su Apu to ask for surrender.Considering the situation,Qi Jiguang accepted Su Apu's surrender and resettled him at the place nearby Xiangliao.However,Su Apu was killed by the local officials who were anxious to render meritorious service.As a result,the flames of war were kindled again.worried about it.Qi Jiguang's of resettlement Su Apu was considered not a good strategy by Yu Dayou.Eventually Qi Jiguang's merit of suppression of Su Apu was evaluated as the last merit was dealt with by criticism and edge.The Real Records of Emperor Shizong of the Ming Dynasty did not mention Qi Jiguang's merit,which influenced the writing of History of the Ming Dynasty.In fact,Qi's merits were dealt with selective amnesia.
