Comparison of clinical outcomes of different administration regimens of progesterone soft capsules for luteal support in hormone replacement frozen-thawed embryo transfer
Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of different administration regimens of progesterone soft capsules for luteal support in hormone replacement frozen-thawed embryo transfer. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 3 845 patients who underwent frozen embryo transfer with luteal support using progesterone soft capsules and dydrogesterone from January 2019 to December 2021.Patients were divided into two groups according to different usage of vaginal progesterone soft capsules:Group A with 200 mg of three times daily doses and Group B with 300 mg of twice daily doses. The treatment outcomes of the two groups were evaluated. Results:There were no significant differences in not only age, infertility duration, body mass index(BMI),but also endometrial thickness, serum estrogen levels and serum progesterone levels on the day of transfer between the two groups(P>0.05).The live birth rates in Groups A and B were 34.71%(645/1 858)and 36.39%(723/1 987)respectively,while the clinical pregnancy rates of the embryo transferred were 52.3%(182/348)and 55.37%(397/717)respectively,showing no significant differences between the two groups(P>0.05).There were also no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG)positive rate, the abortion rate, and the ectopic pregnancy rate(P>0.05).Conclusions:In the hormone replacement cycle of frozen-thawed embryo transfer, two different doses and frequencies of vaginal progesterone soft capsule treatment can achieve similar effects as luteal support.
