Research progress on mechanism and preventive drugs of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome
Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome(OHSS)is one of the common complications in assisted reproductive technology, and its pathogenesis has not been fully defined.Endogenous or exogenous human chorionic gonadotropin(hCG)stimulation of the ovary to release a large number of vasoactive substances is considered to be the key element in the pathogenesis of OHSS.Currently, the clinical prevention methods for OHSS include the use of drugs, individualized controlled ovarian stimulation,freeze-all strategy, coasting therapy and in vitro maturation, but the occurrence of OHSS has not been completely prevented.Moderate to severe OHSS may adversely affect the health and outcomes of transferred patients. Therefore,it is important to elucidate the pathogenesis of OHSS,find reliable prevention methods, and reduce the cycle cancellation rate and economic burden of the patients. This paper reviews the pathogenesis and prevention of OHSS in order to provide clinical reference for the prevention and treatment of OHSS.
