Research progress on the damage of endocrine disruptors to male reproductive function
Endocrine disrupting chemicals(EDCs)are a class of exogenous compounds that interfere with the action of human endocrine hormones. They exist widely in the environment and are not easily degradable.People are inevitably continuously exposed to it.Many studies have suggested that exposure to antiandrogenic EDCs in utero, particularly at a sensitive period of fetal testicular development, can disturb testicular development and function.Environmental EDCs exposure in adult males can also cause reproductive dysfunction, with an association in the decline of male reproductive ability in recent years. This review focuses on the damage and related mechanisms of several common EDCs on male reproductive system.
