Effects of two blastocyst biopsy strategies in preimplantation genetic testing on pregnancy outcomes
Objective:To compare the effects of two blastocyst biopsy strategies in preimplantation genetic testing(PGT)on pregnancy outcomes. Methods:A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 76 cycles of infertile patients who underwent PGT treatment in Reproductive Medicine Center,Qingdao Women and Children's Hospital,Qingdao University from February 2021 to June 2023.According to the blastocyst biopsy strategy, the patients were divided into blastocyst mechanical biopsy group(n=38)and blastocyst laser biopsy(n=38).The basic characteristics, embryo development and clinical outcomes were compared between the two groups. The influencing factors of clinical pregnancy were analyzed by binary Logistic regression. Results:There were no significant differences in age, type of infertility, body mass index(BMI),duration of infertility, total Gonadotropin dose, basic FSH level, basic LH level and the level of anti-müllerian hormone(AMH)between the two groups(P>0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the rate of normal fertilization, the rate of high-quality embryos available on D3,the rate of available blastocyst, the rate of normal blastocysts detected by PGT,the rate of abnormal blastocysts detected by PGT and the rate of chimeric blastocysts detected by PGT(P>0.05).The rate of failure in mechanical biopsy group was significantly lower than that in laser biopsy group(2.95%vs.7.27%,P<0.05),the implantation rate and clinical pregnancy rate of mechanical biopsy group were significantly higher than those of laser biopsy group(P<0.05).The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that the blastocyst biopsy strategy had significant effect on clinical pregnancy(P<0.05).Conclusions:Compared with the laser biopsy of blastocyst, the mechanical biopsy of blastocyst has better quality control rate, higher blastocyst implantation and clinical pregnancy rates.
