Association between circadian rhythmdisruption and IVF-ET outcomes in PCOS women:A retrospective analysis
Objective:To explore the association between circadian rhythm disruption and PCOS and effects of circadian rhythm disruption on IVF-ET outcomes in patients with PCOS.Methods:Clinical data from patients diagnosed with tubal factors and PCOS who underwent IVF-ET at Department of Reproductive Medicine,Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine from January 2017 to February 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The difference of the incidence of circadian rhythm disruption between patients with tubal factors and those with PCOS was compared and influencing factors of PCOS were analyzed.Subsequently, patients with PCOS were divided into the circadian rhythm normal group(n=83)and the circadian rhythm disruption group(n=242),and IVF-ET related indicators were compared between the two groups. Results:There was a significant difference in the incidence of circadian rhythm disruption between patients with tubal factors and those with PCOS(P<0.05).A notable correlation was observed between circadian rhythm disruption and PCOS[OR=2.845,95%CI(1.929,4.195),P<0.05].Additionally,the testosterone level and the number of oocyte retrieved in the circadian rhythm disruption group were significantly higher and more than those of the circadian rhythm normal group,respectively(P<0.05).Furthermore,the proportion of MⅡ oocyte, the fertilization rate,2PN fertilization rate,2PN cleavage rate, and available embryo rate of the circadian rhythm disruption group were markedly lower than those of the circadian rhythm normal group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Circadian rhythm disruption may be the etiology of PCOS,which has a negative impact on the quality of embryos in PCOS patients.
