The ovary is an important reproductive organ in women, which can provide oocytes and produce steroid hormones. The HIPPO signaling pathway is a widely found signaling pathway in the ovary in recent years, which is closely related to the physiological principles, pathological mechanisms and fertility preservation. It is involved in the synthesis and metabolism of endocrine hormones, follicle growth and development and important processes of ovarian tissue remodeling, which mainly achieves nuclear translocation through the phosphorylation status of effector molecules Yes associated protein 1(YAP1)and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif(TAZ),resulting in transcriptionally regulating downstream genes. The activity of the HIPPO signaling pathway is also jointly regulated by WNT,NOTCH,epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)and transforming growth factor β(TGFβ)signaling pathway in the ovaries. The dysfunction of HIPPO signaling pathway can seriously affect the physiological homeostasis of the ovaries, leading to various reproductive system diseases, including PCOS,ovarian insufficiency, and premature ovarian failure. This article will analyze the HIPPO signaling pathway in the ovaries from four aspects, including the molecular composition of HIPPO,the relationship of HIPPO with follicle growth, the relationship of HIPPO with ovarian remodeling, and the relationship of HIPPO with endocrine function,in order to further understand the role and importance of the HIPPO signaling pathway in different physiological processes.
