An Empirical Study on the Integration of Safety Education into Curriculum:Identity and Effectiveness in Higher Education
The rapid advancement in socioeconomic development and information technology has fundamentally transformed the security challenges facing university campuses. The systematic integration of safety education into formal curriculum serves as a fundamental component in developing students'safety awareness and behavioral patterns. This study surveyed 1,024 university students to examine how the curricular approach to safety education influences its effectiveness. The research proposes improvements in four areas:curriculum content development,scenario-based application, assessment innovation, and enhancement of student engagement. The findings indicate that:(1)Curriculum effectiveness varies significantly across gender, grade levels, and student categories;(2)Course design and assessment methods have significant impact on curriculum effectiveness;(3)Curriculum identity fully mediates the relationship between knowledge construction and effectiveness, while partially mediating the effects of course design and assessment methods;(4)Curriculum identity significantly influences curriculum effectiveness.
