Study on Calculation Method of Braking Performance for Rail Vehicles
With the increase of operation speed and the development of novel braking systems, the accuracy of the traditional braking calculation based on mean values needs to be optimized.A step-by-step calculation method is proposed to conduct a case study based on CRH6A high speed train. The calculation results are compared with the mean value method and the experimental results. The results indicate that both methods can obtain the satisfying results with suitable step length where the step-by-step method is more sensitive to the step length. The simplification of the operation resistance within the response time is the main source of the difference between the two methods. If the response time exceeds 20%of the maximum braking force duration, the step-by-step method should be used to improve the calculation accuracy.
