Design of a skidding condition simulation device for rail vehicles
This paper introduces the design of a programmable speed signal simulator for rail vehicles in skidding conditions, which can simulate various skidding conditions in test room and generate skid test conditions for brake systems.Speed signal curves of the vehicle under fault conditions such as skidding, seizure, cable break and dis-connection are set through the human-machine interface based on emWin graphics library, and the STM32F429 microcontroller is used to simulate and generate four axle speed signals which can be independently controlled and correspond to fault characteristics. The linking of this device to the EBCU on Fuxing EMU proves the realization of the simulation of various skidding conditions. In test room environment,a research and test scheme of anti-skid control strategy without damage to track and wheelset is provided to avoid the disadvantages of high cost, long cycle and large manpower input in generation of artificial skidding faults or construction of dedicated test bench on real lines.
