It is an important work to cultivate quality legal talents with both virtue and legal ability for police academies according to Xi Jinping's thought on rule of law.The talent cultivation in the new era requires new missions,new goals,new models and new mechanisms,which points out the direction of police education.Nowadays the pattern of"three-wide education"in police academies is not yet constructed.The formative education of legal thinking and development of practice and innovation abilities need improving.The concept of co-construction,co-education and sharing has not yet been formed.Thus,the legal talent cultivation in police academies should follow Xi Jinping's thought on rule of law to insist on the correct political direction,emphasize a solid law foundation for talent cultivation,reform the collaborative education mechanism to encourage the participation of social resources,and strengthen the team building of the staff.
