The involvement of national railway companies in the carbon finance business will help revitalizing the green and low-carbon market.This paper first explicates the development history of the global carbon market and the constituent elements of the car-bon finance market,and presents the practices of civil aviation,electricity,and forestry sectors in carrying out carbon finance business.On this basis,this paper then presents the paths for national railway companies to use carbon financial tools,which includes:the founda-tion for national railway companies to involve in the carbon financial market,identifying the potential high-quality assets,pilot project on carbon finance products.It is proposed that national railway companies should:seize the opportunities and promote carbon asset management in an orderly manner;carry out pilot project to promote the development of carbon finance trading markets;provide neces-sary resource coordination and supporting policy.
