Geological conditions of the southwest mountain areas are significantly different with those of the plain areas. Thus the operation of high speed railway is apparently different in terms of equipment, organization and requirements. This paper first classifies the train operation adjustments under unfavorable conditions on high speed railway in southwestern mountain areas and builds a model based on the types of minor accidents and serious interruption accidents. This paper then verifies the model through calculation of the adjustment of train operation on the Chengdu-Chongqing high speed railway. The results show that the model has a fast solving speed and high solving quality. It has certain adaptability to different interruption scenarios for high speed railways in southwestern mountain areas, providing support for improving the safety factor of high speed railway operation in mountain areas.
