Field Test on Grinding Profile and Laws of Rail Wear of High Speed Railway Turnout
A systematic field test study was conducted on the No.18 high speed turnout in multiple railway stations to explore the actual situation of the target polishing profile of the No.18 high speed turnout in China's high speed railway and the development and evolution of rail wear in the turnout area. The research results indicate that currently, the overall turnout area is mainly focused on polishing the profile of the 60 kg/m steel rail head. When passing through a turnout in the forward direction, the vertical wear of the straight switch rail is generally more severe than that of the curved switch rail. The side wear of the curved switch rail is significantly greater than that of the straight switch rail. When passing through a turnout in the reverse direction, the vertical wear of the straight and curved switch rails is basically the same as when passing through a turnout in the forward direction, and the radial wear is overall greater than when passing through a turnout in the forward direction, special attention should be paid. When passing through a turnout in both forward and reverse directions, the vertical wear of the long point rail increases continuously and eventually stabilizes. The vertical wear and side wear of switch rails at the frog heel are the highest at the starting bearing position. When passing through a turnout in the forward direction, the radial wear of the long point rail is relatively high after the top width of 40 mm.The peak radial wear of switch rail at the frog heel mainly occurs at the top width of 20 mm.When passing through a turnout in the reverse direction, the peak radial wear of the long point rail mainly occurs at the top width of 71 mm.The peak radial wear of switch rail at the frog heel is the same as when passing through a turnout in the forward direction.
