Under the background that China Carbon Market has been developed and improved progressively,and railway sector also has rolled out a series of policies about carbon market,railway industry should explore the carbon assets potential itself and join the carbon market actively.This article analyses on domestic and international Carbon Emission Trading System(ETS),and current situation between railway industry and ETS.Based on the characteristic of railway,this article analyses the potential to join ETS,and from the aspects of photovoltaic projects,forest carbon sink,high speed railway,energy-saving and managing technologies,construction and building and other aspects,describing the advantages and problems about them.Because railway industry hasn't been brought into China Carbon Emissions Trading Exchange(CCETE)market compulsorily,this article considers that railway industry should participate in China Certified Emission Reduction(CCER)market and regional carbon market with its advantages,and all sides including design,construction,operation,maintenance and so on should take part in it,and develop the calculation theory of carbon emission reduction and program methodology,which can provide the reference for railway industry to liquidate its carbon assets with great income for railway industry.
