Practical Study on Enhanced Removal of Phosphorus from Effluents in WWTP by Chemical Precipitation
Through dual-scenario testing of jar tests and productive tests, technical support was provided for chemical deep phosphorus removal from typical waste water. The results showed that PFC(poly ferric chloride)had a better effect on phosphorus removal when TP concentration of effluents below 0.4 mg/L.Fine filtration was suggested after simultaneous phosphorus removal or post chemical dosing. For WWTP with high phosphorus content and low alkalinity, the changes of environmental control parameters such as alkalinity,pH value, and characteristics of biochemical activated sludge should be focused when dosing chemicals. When the influent contains high phosphorus substances, the single-point 'dosing mass concentration'should be controlled within the recommended range of experience. The phosphorus removal dosing point was suggested between the end of the aeration tank and the secondary sedimentation tank,or the first section of the precipitation before the secondary treatment effluent entering the tertiary treatment filter.Fine filtration unit should be set before effluent to eliminate the effect of SS on the insoluble TP.During the operation of WWTP,the average value of the dosage coefficient β is less than 1.7 mol Fe/mol P and the cost of per mg/L TP removal was below ¥0.015/m3.Precise dosing optimization control should be applied to chemical phosphorus removal.
